Our Parent Community
Throughout the year, we create regular opportunities for our parent community to connect, share experiences and feel part of life at DMW. From parent information sessions and shared learning opportunities to social events and family celebrations, each experience is designed to strengthen relationships between families and our team.
We value the knowledge, ideas and feedback our families bring. By learning from one another and sharing our experiences as parents and educators, we continue to grow together and build a stronger DMW community.
Some of our favourite events include parent trivia nights, family celebrations, preschool information sessions, monthly showcases and our end-of-year celebrations. Whether it's an adults-only evening or a special occasion for the whole family, there's always something to look forward to.
Parent Info Sessions & Seminars
We regularly bring families, educators and trusted professionals together to share practical knowledge, answer questions and provide a deeper understanding of children's learning and development at DMW.
Our sessions are shaped around the real questions families have and offer helpful strategies that can be used at home. Previous topics have included positive behaviour guidance, speech and language development, transition to school, toilet training, healthy sleep, saying goodbye to the dummy, Centrelink and CCS support, developmental milestones and supporting children with additional needs.
Community Events & Celebrations
Throughout the year, we bring our DMW community together through family events, cultural celebrations, monthly showcases and special occasions. These moments give families the opportunity to connect with our educators, celebrate children's learning and create special memories together.
From Mother's and Father's Day celebrations to preschool graduations, festive events and community partnerships, there is always something special happening at DMW.
Giving Back to the Community
At Discover My World, we are passionate about giving back. Each year we host a variety of fundraisers and participate in events to do our part for those who are less fortunate.
We are proud of the local Sydney communities we are part of in Engadine, North Kellyville and Crows Nest, and we ensure everyone in the DMW family has opportunities to participate.

Learning comes to life in many different ways at DMW. From sport, music and hands-on science to performances, health initiatives, community visits and meaningful incursions, every experience gives children another opportunity to explore their interests, build confidence and discover more about their world.
We work with a range of trusted partners, including Ranger Jamie, Energetic Minds, School Performance Tours, Smyla Dental, StEPS Vision Screening, Bravehearts and Life Ed—home of the much-loved Healthy Harold, with plenty more exciting experiences offered throughout the year.

Building Connections Across Generations
Some of our most treasured experiences connect children with older community members, sharing stories, skills and warmth. Our intergenerational program is one of DMW's most valued community partnerships, bringing children and older members of our community together through shared stories, play, creativity and genuine connection.
Our intergenerational visits are about far more than spending time together. They create a beautiful sense of belonging and give children meaningful opportunities to develop empathy, respect and an appreciation for the experiences of others. In return, children bring their curiosity, energy and joy, creating connections that are deeply valued on both sides.
It's two generations learning from one another, building relationships and creating special memories that stay with everyone involved.

Through local excursions, visits from emergency services and community helpers, cultural celebrations, family events and partnerships with local schools, organisations and businesses, children develop a genuine sense of connection and belonging.
