Discover My World began with a simple belief: that the early years should be filled with curiosity, connection and meaningful experiences.
Since 2015, we've grown to serve families across Sydney, in Engadine and North Kellyville, with Crows Nest opening in February 2027. But our commitment has never changed.
We believe in relationships first, in learning through play, and in treating every child as an individual with their own interests, strengths and pace of development.
Together with families, our educators create thoughtful learning experiences that support each child as an individual, celebrating who they are today while helping them grow into who they're becoming.
A decade of purposeful growth
From a single service in Engadine to the thriving communities we serve today, our journey has always been guided by genuine relationships and a commitment to exceptional care.
A Vision is Born
Discover My World was founded through a shared vision between Isabel and Rob Rafidi and Peter Moran, to create an exceptional early learning environment where the youngest and oldest generations could learn, connect and thrive together. This vision became reality through the co-location of Discover My World Early Learning Centre within the newly developed Moran Engadine Aged Care community, creating one of the region's few intergenerational learning environments.
Opening Our First Service
The doors to Discover My World Engadine officially opened. Originally licensed for 72 children, the service reached full occupancy within just four months, reflecting the immediate confidence families placed in our philosophy and approach. Following strong community demand, the service expanded to 90 licensed places, becoming a highly sought-after early learning service where word-of-mouth referrals became our greatest source of new enrolments.
This success reinforced our belief that genuine relationships, high-quality education and strong leadership create thriving communities.
Building Through Uncertainty
With the success of Engadine firmly established, Discover My World partnered once again with the Moran Group to develop a second purpose-built Early Learning Centre at North Kellyville, co-located with the new Moran Aged Care community. While the COVID-19 pandemic delayed construction, our commitment to the project never changed. In June 2022, Discover My World North Kellyville proudly welcomed its first families.
Since opening, the service has continued to grow steadily and sustainably, averaging approximately 90% occupancy with a capacity of up to 180 children each day, yet still intimate and personal. This service has become recognised for its warm culture, exceptional learning environments and strong community reputation.
Growing with Purpose
Today, Discover My World proudly operates 2 thriving services with a reputation built on quality, governance and meaningful community relationships. Our growth has never been driven by the desire to operate the most services, it has been driven by our ability to maintain exceptional standards while supporting children, families and educators.
As we continue to strengthen our leadership, governance and operational capability, we are ready to thoughtfully expand into new communities while preserving the personalised approach that defines Discover My World. The opportunity to continue the remarkable 50-year legacy of the Crows Nest service represents the next important and exciting chapter in that journey.
Looking Ahead
Our next purpose-built service at Spring Farm represents another exciting milestone for Discover My World. More importantly, it represents continued opportunity for children to experience exceptional early education, for families to become part of a connected community, and for educators to continue to grow with us. Growth without compromise of the values that have shaped us since 2014.
