Starting Childcare: What Parents Need to Know
Starting childcare is a big transition, for your child and for you. Here's how we make it feel easier.
We're With You Every Step of the Way
Separation is hard for both parents and children. These are some of the ways we help make the transition smoother for everyone.
Preparing Your Child
Talk positively about childcare, read books about starting and visit the centre together if you can.
Transition Visits
We arrange orientation visits so your child can get comfortable with our educators and environment before their first day.
The First Day
Keep goodbyes short and positive. We'll be there to comfort and engage your child as they settle in.
What to Bring
Very little: a change of clothes and any comfort items. We provide meals, nappies and most essentials.
Building Relationships
Your child will have consistent educators who take time to know them, their routines and their preferences.
Staying Connected
You'll receive updates and photos through Kinderloop throughout the day, so you feel connected.

It's Normal, And We Know How to Help
Some children settle in quickly. Others take a little time. Both are completely normal, and we're experienced in supporting both.
If your child is upset at drop-off, our educators will comfort them, engage them in something interesting and send you an update through Kinderloop so you know they've settled. We'll always be honest with you about how their day is going.
